Agenda

This 1-hour seminar focuses attention on two large university structures, highlighting multiple technologies within the McKEON product line. Special emphasis is given to unique vertical space design solutions that mitigate atrium requirements. This course is valid for 1.0 AIA credit, HSW certificate.

The seminar covers:

The fundamental code requirements as they apply to the design of vertical spaces.
Wide-span opening protectives and their applications in passive wall systems.
Exploring the significant impact code requirements have upon building function, ambiance and overall appearance.
Examine unique circumstances wherein NFPA 101 and IBC collaborate to maximize fire and life safety for building occupants as applied to vertical spaces.

Cameron Ross is the Architectural Marketing Associate for the DC branch of McKEON, which covers all of Virginia, Washington, DC, and Southern Maryland. With over seven (7) years of experience in the fire door industry, Cameron has devoted himself to understanding the needs of architectural design teams first, then applying the diverse McKEON product line to satisfy those needs. He prioritizes relationships over products and strives to be an ally in what can be a confusing world of opening protective requirements, testing standards and door system options. Outside of the office, you can find him at a local municipal golf course or playing electric in his church’s worship band.
