Mr Jon Poitras

Jon’s introduction to the door industry began after college at a Chicago-based sectional door wholesaler. He has since held manufacturing level positions in technical support and product engineering. His familiarity with the building code began with his role as a wind load engineer working within the wind mitigation requirements of the states of Florida and Texas. Jon also has experience with CAD, producing installation instructions for complex layouts. He has a working knowledge of industry technology ranging from standard service and fire rated doors to highly specialized products like direct drive and explosion proof operators. Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing. He has wind load designs at TDI, Florida’s DBPR, and in Miami-Dade County.
